Recent Sales

Field House Rest HomeField House, Clent, Stourbridge, Worcestershire - Reg 54

In what proved to be their busiest month ever in terms of completed sales, DC Care was delighted to finalise the acquisition of Field House Rest Home located in Clent, Stoubridge to experienced care operators Blackadder Corporation.

DC Care was instructed by the owners Mr and Mrs Lane to sell the Grade II* listed home as a genuine retirement sale having originally purchased the home themselves in the early 1970’s. Set in approximately 10 acres of grounds this particularly attractive care home is well known in the area and enjoys an excellent reputation.

After a somewhat protracted sale process, DC Care's Andy Sandel commented; "It may have taken longer than the average time to sell a care home, over 2 years in fact, but we never gave up and in the end this was possibly one of the most satisfying completions I’ve been involved with."

Delphine CourtDelphine Court, Cockerton, Cumbria - Reg 22

DC Care is delighted to have completed the lease of Delphine Court, a former residential care home in the village of Cockerton, County Durham.

The property had been a residential care home run by a charity for a number of years, before being bought by our client, Mr G Shaw. Mr Shaw completed a substantial refurbishment of the building and contacted DC Care to find a new operator to lease the property to. DC Care found a specialist operator looking to establish a service in the area, for clients with a range of learning disabilities, in a supported living environment.

Alison Taylor, Specialist Business Appraiser at DC Care handled the instruction and said: "I am delighted that we were able to help Mr Shaw find a suitable tenant for Delphine Court. He was keen to ensure that a reliable operator was found and that the building continued to serve the local community. We found an operator very quickly and terms were agreed."

Mr Shaw commented: "When I met Alison, I was keen to find the right people to operate the home. We are local and it mattered a great deal who we worked with. Alison was professional, knowledgeable and importantly, kept her word. She understood exactly what we were looking for and was able to advise us every step of the way. I am looking forward to working with her again, should the opportunity arise."

"I would like to thank DC Care, and in particular Andy Sandel, for the help and support to sell New Directions group of 5 homes and supported living service to Priory Group at the end of January 2014. It is indeed an extremely stressful process, but Andy was always available to sooth the nerves. Thanks also go to my accountant, Steve Cooper of McPhersons who had a total understanding about the sale process, and along with DC Care, I would recommend to any home owner planning to sell their care home/s."
