DC Care has recently completed the sale of The Laurels Care Home in Aberdare in Mid Glamorgan, South Wales on behalf of their client, Mr Keith Jones.
The home is located on the outskirts of the town centre, with a population of just over 31,000 and is located almost halfway between Swansea and Cardiff.
The building is a former private residence which has been significantly extended to provide care in all single accommodation bedrooms. As well as light and spacious accommodation, there are lovely gardens to the rear, which have been designed to encourage use by clients.
The business was appraised by Regional Director Alison Willoughby and the marketing of the home and sale was negotiated by Senior Sales Negotiator, Lisa Rushworth.
The Laurels has been sold to Siva Sriplan and his business partner who commented that the purchase went really smoothly, with Siva and his business partner having the support of the owner in ensuring that the service did not get disrupted in the transition period and that residents carried on receiving the highest possible care and service.
The vendor, Keith Jones, would like to thank the DC Care Team for their help and support and commented that there was always someone on the end of the phone or e-mail for advice when needed and the sale was conducted in a very professional manner, from beginning to end.
Alison Willoughby, DC Care Regional Director commented that: “The role of an agent is to facilitate and in this particular instruction, we knew that the sale would progress smoothly with a more hands off approach by us, with both buyer and sellers communicating regularly. This helped to foster an extremely amenable relationship between the parties.” Lisa made regular contact with both parties, to ensure we were on hand to offer assistance wherever needed.
The asking price of the business was £650,000 for the freehold, although the sale price is undisclosed.
Alison Willoughby, Regional Director of DC Care oversaw the sale: “I visit many homes and the care and commitment shown by Angela to the service users and staff was apparent from day one. The home has a definite ethos which is shared by everyone. Lisa Rushworth worked alongside me on this sale and we both wish Angela a very happy retirement.”
