DC Care has completed the sale of Queen Margarets Nursing Home on behalf of our client, Hawkfish Limited for an undisclosed sum. This is a landmark building in Scarborough and has, over the years, been a private residence and a school, before it became a nursing home.
The outgoing owner has owned the business for well over a decade and was keen to see it handed over to someone they felt would continue to develop the business and ensure its ongoing service to the local community.
The new owners, Mike and Melanie Padgham, are very well known in the care industry, already running a successful residential care home in Scarborough. Mike also chairs two influential bodies, the United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA) and Independent Care Group (York and North Yorkshire).
The sale of Queen Margarets was funded by Phillipa Bagshaw, Healthcare Specialist Senior Relationship Manager at NatWest Bank who said “We are delighted to assist Mike and Melanie on their acquisition and wish them every success for the future.”
